Giro Foray – Budget Road Helmet Review

Giro Foray Road Helmet at RRP £49.99 – Reviewed by Pete (Roadie) at Partridge Cycles

Now in stock, the Giro Foray road helmet, with an RRP of just £49.99 makes this one of the road riding guys product of the year. Meeting the usual Giro high standards and relevant safety regulations, the side profile is neat and rounded, looking very up to date when worn. You may have noticed the similarities, as the styling and shape is derived from the top of the range Giro Synthe.

The Giro Foray – an absolute bargain of a road helmet has superb air flow, shape and feel when on the bike. The weight of my medium was a respectable 270g and I am currently using this as my go to high viz helmet.

The internal padding is comfortable and easy to remove for washing (or replace), courtesy of velcro tabs – a good feature.

The design features 21 vents which do an excellent job of keeping you cool in hotter conditions and the internal adjustment allows scope for a skull / winter hat when the weather takes a turn for the worse and in light of that, the rocloc 5 retention system is excellent. It can be operated while wearing gloves and with a single hand, making it ideal for adjustments on the fly.

It is a great example of top-end technology filtering down to more affordable models, having been previously found on the Giro Aeon. Available in small, medium and large and in a wide choice of colours, we have them in store now – simply a great helmet at a great price.
