Lets be honest, as a cyclist, there aren’t many things better than getting on your bike, putting in some big miles while taking in some fantastic scenery. Luckily, Devon is a place that offers amazing coastal views that are perfect for those looking for those long rides with a hell of a view.
We take a look at some of the best cycle routes in Devon that we think you should try! First up…
Exe Estuary – Exmouth to Dawlish
The 26-mile cycle takes you along a dedicated cycle path that is pretty much flat throughout along the Exe Estuary, that takes you through villages and towns such as Lympstone, Exton and Topsham. The route (on a sunny day) will take a lot of beating when it comes to the actual path and the views, as the route is smooth and offers no real challenges, with regards to terrain and incline.
Even if you don’t fancy cycling the whole route, even the 5/6 mile cycle to Topsham can be eventful enough, as there are a few pubs and restaurants to stop by along the way. If you’re looking to on a cycle, have a few beers with your friends and maybe grab some food this is the perfect route for you. And it’s also ideal for families who want to have a day out together and explore.
And the best part, if you don’t fancy the cycle back you can easily jump on the train!
